Industrial Upfit/ Facility Maintenance
• Shut Downs, Facility Maintenance, NC, SC
Routine repairs during scheduled Shut Downs as well as Emergency repairs done to return to normal operation and resume production for industries such as:
Paper Mills, Printing Facilities, Steel Mills, Petroleum Refineries, Furniture Plants, Textile Mills, and Food Processing Facilities.
• Hickory Steel, Hickory NC
Installed new power wiring to existing Overhead Cranes in operating facility. Converted primary Overhead Crane, serving rail lines; to a wireless infrared remote controlled unit, eliminating the need for the operator to stay in the crane cab for entire shift.
• Carolina Base-Pac Plant 3, Hudson NC
Design and Upfit of existing facility to accommodate Crating Sawmill. Installed 80 hp Resaw with crosscut capabilities, as well as 3 custom manufactured cut-off saws, a notcher and band saws.
Also installed Holtech/ Stihl cut off saw. Consisted of self propelled operator station with a 12-foot chainsaw arm riding on a 25-foot rail bed. This allowed an entire hack of lumber to be cut into multiple dimensions accurate to 1/16th of an inch.
Installed Dust Collection System and an Off-all Conveyer System for scrap and culled lumber.
• Carolina Base-Pac Plant 2, Hudson NC
Design and Upfit of existing Crating manufacturing plant. Including Automated Mustang Pallet Machine as well as custom layout assembly stations with new Air Compressor and Compressed air System.
Design and Install of plastic packaging production stations, Back stands and Heat Sealers.
• Granite Hardwoods, Granite Falls
Full automation with touch screen PLC of Wood Fired Boiler, Dust Collection system, Feed Screws and Conveyers. Completion of this project stopped costly Dust Collection system failures and Feed Conveyer malfunctions.
With upgrades operational Dust Collection, Feed Screws and Conveyers operated as one System allowing the Wood Boiler to Modulate between low and high fire. PLC operation also issued reports concerning operation status.
Lumber Milling process efficiency increased along with more rapid drying cycles in Kilns.
• Henredon Furniture, Morganton NC
Installation in an operational boiler plant of new 900 hp Cleaver Brooks Fire Tube Boiler with Fire Eye automated controllers. As well as interfacing it with existing monitoring system.
Oil and Gas
• Gbaran Ubie Integrated Oil & Gas Development Project, West Africa
International Engineering and Construction Project sharing work over four Continents for World Class Petroleum Refining Facility. Assisted in development of overall Design and Documentation of PdM Program for entire facility.
Participated in all aspects of RCM analysis. Performed Failure Modes and Effects Analyses and Criticality Analyses. Wrote Work Instruction for Maintenance Job Routines. Wrote Maintenance Job Routines for maintainable equipment, package units and Safety Integrated Loops.
Vendor Manual review and Approval. Collaborated on application of prototype software for Storage / Library Function for facility data and vendor manuals.
Pharmaceutical
• Andrx Pharmaceuticals cGMP Manufacturing Expansion, Davie FL
cGMP Oral Solid Dosage Pharmaceutical manufacturing expansion. $52 Million. Work completed in an operating Class 100,000 Clean Room Facility. Installation included design and construction of all cGMP facilities work and installation of the OSD manufacturing equipment. In addition to, significant upgrades to the existing facilities infrastructure such as new Chillers, Cooling Towers, Oxidizers, Emergency Generators, Air Compressors, USP system and a new 6000A electrical feed.
• Andrx GMP Renovation, Davie FL
GMP Class 100,000 Clean Room Manufacturing area renovations. Including installation of new Glatt Fluid Bed Dryers, Pancoater, Blender, and Granulator. Infrastructure upgrades include new Emergency Generator, Chiller and relocation of CDA compressor system.

Convention Center
• Salisbury Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Salisbury NC
Red Iron, Tilt Up 98,000 sq.ft. including 2500 seat auditorium; 2 smaller 200 seat auditoriums, as well as dining facilities and a kitchen for feeding and seating up to 1500 people. Also included were 3, 1 bedroom apartments and 1 efficiency for staff.
Attached depot, for receiving the literature and supplies needed for the conventions and classes conducted on site.
Due to its use as an educational facility it has an extensive closed circuit television and communication system. Allowing persons in service and administrative areas or auxiliary classrooms to observe and/or participate in the programs in progress.
Project, completed entirely with voluntary labor, supervised and directed by skilled licensed contractors.

Building Communications upfit in occupied educational facility

Office of Student Services custom install of Cabinets, Shelving and Confidential Document Storage.
• Kingdom Hall Quick Build Program, NC, SC, FL
4000-4400 sq. ft. Wood Frame Structure with Brick and Vinyl Siding Exterior Auditoriums seating 160-200 people, 1-2 Auxiliary Classrooms/ Libraries seating 20-25 people each. Restrooms, Mothers Room and Mini-Kitchen are included.
Upon completion of underground and slab preparation, these structures are constructed TURNKEY in 4 days,
landscaping included. This is accomplished using ALL volunteer labor, directed by skilled and licensed contractors.
During my involvement with the North Carolina Regional Building Committee an average of 10-14 Kingdom Halls were constructed annually with 2-4 being Remodels.
